The Celtic History
The Atlanta Celtics Basketball program
was organized in 1990 because of
the need for additional activities
for youth that loved the game of
basketball. At the time there was
only one 11 and under boys team.
Presently, we average between 20
and 26 teams per season.
Over the years, the Atlanta Celtics
became a household name to all spring
and summer basketball fans and among
colleges and universities across
the country. During the nineties,
the Illinois Spot-Lite, Illinois
number one recruiting service, had
the Atlanta Celtics Basketball Program
rated third behind New York Riverside
and Boston BABC. However in recent
years the program has moved into
the number one position. The following
accomplishments explain why:
- The Amateur Athletic Union's
Department of the Year 1994 and
1996!
- 57 AAU State Championships!
- Six AAU National Championships!
- Two Junior Pro National Championships!
- Three BCI (Basketball Congress
International) National Championships!
- Two Adidas Big Time National
Championships!
- Two National Top Teams of the
Summer Awards!
Also, Hoops TV, the Recruiter's
Handbook, Rivals 100, and other scouting
services recognize the Atlanta Celtics
Juniors as the team of the summer
2000!
The Atlanta Celtics' organization
continues to field tremendously talented
teams each year from team members
selected from youth aged 7 through
19. The team members come from elementary,
middle, and secondary school students. |
